science fiction gadget, gadget gifts

What was once thought of as a "science fiction gadget" is available today for anyone's use.  Whether you are traveling to another country or simply in need of several language translations at school, there is something called an electronics talking 12-language global translator available today.  What a wonderful and exciting invention.  I was searching for gadget gifts online, and I discovered an internet store that carried this "science fiction gadget." 

I took French in High School, and while in college I thought I would continue my studies.  As I grew older, I worked for an agency that sent me to various places to follow up on grants we gave.  This often meant working with people who spoke another language...even American Sign Language.  If only I had had this wonderful piece of equipment, there would have been no need for any gadget gifts of any kind.

I remember taking American Sign Language classes at Georgia State University...and then I followed up with private lessons for a year.  Still, having something to instantly translate any language would have been a blessing!  Internet stores with their offerings are the best thing I've found lately to offer assistance on the job.
