RPG Games Online
I used to be part of a hobby group where we would meet on weekends and play RPG games in person. It was expensive. It grew from a small group to several hundred people playing. We had to rent space large enough to hold all the people. It started to take on a life of its own. People would come as their characters. Some people started setting up booths to sell theme products and costumes. It was a lot of fun, but a lot of work. I found I spent more time helping organize the weekends and running things than playing. It became work.
I found I loved playing RPG games on my computer. I can just play and enjoy myself without all the work involved with the events. Even so, I thought that I might miss the personalities and social contact I found at our in person events. I was wrong. Playing RPG games online is giving me the unpredictability of playing with real people with out the expense and work of the RPG events. I am having so much more fun online than I did at events. I get to play when I want to, and with people from all over the world. It is a blast.
