RPG Games
My son has just discovered online RPG games. Actually I introduced him to them. I've been looking for a way to reconnect with my fifteen year old son. Over the last few years we have somehow drifted apart. Other then the fact that we both like to play computer and video games we don’t have much in common. I don’t understand his music and he does not talk about things with me anymore. To him I am just an adult telling him what to do.
My wife suggested I ask him to play some RPG games with me as it might be enough to re-engage him. He liked the idea of playing RPG games. Now we are working together as a team, playing against other teams. It's been fun. I already play online games, so it was easy to find games we would both enjoy. We spend an hour or so a day playing. I think we're bonding again. At least now we have something in common, and can talk about it. The key I think is that in the games he is my partner, an equal.
