spy gear One of the favorite things to do as a teen, prior to having a drivers license was running around the neighborhood at night and ding dong ditching random houses. It is just good clean fun I think every boy has done at least a couple times. The object is to run up to the doorstep, press the doorbell a few times and then run away and hide somewhere where you can see the person come to the door. We got really into doing this and my friend went as far as bringing some spy gear along. We would dress in full camo or black clothing to blend into the suburban forests lining all the houses and lie in wait for a homeowner to come to the door, look around and then go back inside. When we were lucky they would give chase.

The spy gear of choice was night vision goggles. There was usually three or four of us involved so one or two would run up to the door, ring it and book like there was no tomorrow while the others watched with the spy gear. It wasn’t really necessary to have but to young teens it was pretty sweet. It gave us the feeling of being commandoes or something. The night vision spy gear resembled the picture above so we would take turns using it. Man I miss those days.
