game consoles, spy gearI experienced most of my childhood during the 1980s. Sometimes I wish I had been a child of this generation instead, if only for the game consoles. I love playing on my PlayStation 3 now so I can only imagine what it is like to play games like Sega’s The Golden Compass with the perception and imagination of a child. It must be like visiting a different world for a while. One could argue that if I had had access to seventh generation game consoles then perhaps I would have taken them for granted the way kids today seem to. Somehow I can’t see myself doing that. I think if I had had a game console like a PlayStation 3 I would never have felt in the least bit bored.
There are some reasons why I am glad that I am not a child now. Yes children of this generation get to play on awesome game consoles, but they also use spy gear toys. For instance my step-grandson Rick has a spy car and he uses it against his big sister Alisha and her friends.  His spying drives her mad, especially because she is at that age when girls become very sensitive about their privacy. I do not know how much tolerance I would have had for being spied on when I was Alisha’s age.
